ABOUT ME!
Committed to Serving Others and Inspiring Change
My dad grew up on the gritty streets of Harlem. My mom was raised in the South. I am the perfect balance of the two: grit and grace, grounded values and boundless drive. My mother was a dedicated nurse who poured her heart into patient care and providing continuing education to other nurses. I grew up surrounded by nurses, many of whom stepped in with love and support after her passing. My father, a banker, worked to help small businesses find their footing and navigate obstacles. From them, I learned that leadership means lifting others up and creating pathways to opportunity.
That belief guided me to Georgetown University, where I studied Government and English. It was a time when dialogue across differences still felt possible, and my commitment to community took deeper root. After college, I began my career at a nonprofit focused on youth civic engagement and leadership, where I had the opportunity to visit DC Central Kitchen, an organization that doesn’t just feed people, but empowers them with tools and training. That visit reshaped my understanding of service as something that should also be transformative, not just transactional.
Whether coordinating major events and programs with the Brooklyn Democratic Party, supporting youth through after-school financial literacy initiatives during my time at Junior Achievement, or helping individuals and organizations grow through my consultancy, my focus has always been the same: bring people together, create opportunities for meaningful dialogue, build stronger systems, and get results that matter.
I believe government should be a force for good in people’s lives—a tool for fairness, opportunity, and accountability. That means more than just talking about the issues that ail us. It means doing the work to make things better. I’m running to represent District 33 in the City Council because I know we can move from promises to progress—by being bold, practical, and rooted in community every step of the way.
I don’t believe life has to be a zero-sum game. Real progress happens when we create thoughtful, inclusive solutions—when we build a city where everyone can grow and thrive. I don’t believe in change for change’s sake. I believe in smart, common-sense policies that genuinely uplift people and communities. I believe in democracy, not hypocrisy—because our values, our rules, and our integrity shouldn’t only apply when it’s convenient.
This district deserves someone who listens, who leads with heart and principle, and who isn’t afraid to do the work. I’m ready to bring our voices, our values, and our vision to City Hall.
